href=\"http:\/\/votanakaifisi.blogspot.com\/2013\/03\/ailanthus-altissima-glandulosa-shumak.html\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0<\/a>(Tree of Heaven)\u2013Christo recommends stooling this tree to increase the leaf size.\u00a0 I recently picked up seeds near Denny Park and potted them\u2013would love to get a seedling to eventually add to the exotic part of the garden.\u00a0 Could especially be useful for me, as it has been used to cure baldness (to what success is not made clear).\u00a0 I will likely keep it in a container, given its extreme suckering reputation.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Mahonia lomariifolia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mahonia_lomariifolia\" target=\"_blank\">Mahonia lomariifolia<\/a>\u2013blooming in late fall and with an interesting growth habit, I look forward to trying this elegant plant in front of the house.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Eucryphia glutinosa\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Eucryphia_glutinosa\" target=\"_blank\">Eucryphia glutinosa<\/a>\u2013might be a bit\u00a0bulky for the garden, but I likely will try it anyway for the flowers in an off season.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Clerodendron bungei\" href=\"http:\/\/luirig.altervista.org\/schedenam\/fnam.php?taxon=Clerodendrum+bungeihttp:\/\/luirig.altervista.org\/schedenam\/fnam.php?taxon=Clerodendrum+bungei\" target=\"_blank\">Clerodendron bungei<\/a> (Rose Glory Bower, Peanut Butter Plant)\u2013an interesting plant that Christo mentions as blooming late.\u00a0 It is fragrant and grows well in Seattle, based on the specimens I\u2019ve seen in the arboretum.<\/p>\n<p>Rhododendron concatenans<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Daphne pontica\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Daphne_pontica\" target=\"_blank\">Daphne pontica<\/a>\u2013unusual daphne that should be easier to grow than odora and less invasive that the daphne spurge that grows wild everywhere.\u00a0 Fragrant, so plan to plant it near a door\/window.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Helleborus foetidus\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Helleborus_foetidus\" target=\"_blank\">Helleborus foetidus<\/a>\u2013Christo claims this isn\u2019t as dark as you might think\u2013with its cut leaves and chartreuse bell flowers, it can light up dark corners.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Paris polyphylla\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Paris_polyphylla\" target=\"_blank\">Paris polyphylla<\/a>\u2013truly a plant geek plant, and weird enough to add interest for me most of the year.\u00a0 I can\u2019t wait to try this one.\u00a0 According to Christo, it looks great with ferns, so will plant near lady or native sword ferns.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Ozothamnus ledifolius\" href=\"http:\/\/images.search.yahoo.com\/images\/view;_ylt=AwrTcXEQ8LFUF_sAkpSJzbkF;_ylu=X3oDMTIyY3AzMXZ0BHNlYwNzcgRzbGsDaW1nBG9pZAMzODc1ZTUzOTQ3YTk1Zjc4MWZiN2ZmNDI5MTFiYjBhMwRncG9zAzMEaXQDYmluZw--?.origin=&amp;back=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.goodsearch.com%2Fsearch-image%3Fkeywords%3Dozothamnus%2Bledifolius&amp;w=470&amp;h=470&amp;imgurl=www.trevenacross.co.uk%2Fcms-images%2Fproduct%2Fmain%2F27_1%2Fozothamnus-ledifolius.jpg&amp;rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.trevenacross.co.uk%2Fplant-centre%2Fcoastal%2Fcoastal-one-star-%2Fozothamnus-ledifolius%2F&amp;size=75.4KB&amp;name=%3Cb%3EOzothamnus+ledifolius%3C%2Fb%3E&amp;p=ozothamnus+ledifolius&amp;oid=3875e53947a95f781fb7ff42911bb0a3&amp;fr2=&amp;fr=&amp;tt=%3Cb%3EOzothamnus+ledifolius%3C%2Fb%3E&amp;b=0&amp;ni=108&amp;no=3&amp;ts=&amp;tab=organic&amp;sigr=12rnl83r2&amp;sigb=1256tvig0&amp;sigi=12deubhvm&amp;sigt=10s658j9j&amp;sign=10s658j9j&amp;.crumb=lYoGsegXkTQ&amp;hsimp=yhs-imp2&amp;hspart=goodsearch\" target=\"_blank\">Ozothamnus ledifolius<\/a>\u2013very interesting\u00a0Tasmanian shrub with gorgeous leaves and colorful buds opening to white flowers.\u00a0 Christo notes that it is cheerful and smells of stewed prunes!<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Omphalodes cappadocica\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Omphalodes_cappadocica\" target=\"_blank\">Omphalodes cappadocica<\/a>\u2013gorgeous pure blue flowers and an excellent habit make this one appealing\u2013might work well in the orchard garden.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Ranunculus gramineus\" href=\"http:\/\/species.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/Ranunculus_gramineus\">Ranunculus gramineus<\/a>\u2013this looks like an ideal plant to site near blue flowers\u2013Christo specifically placed it with
