This plant grew quickly and flowered in about three years from seed.  It has gone through tough times the last few years, having died back in its pot.  It grew back well this year but hasn\u2019t bloomed for a while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The flowers are a showy mix of white, yellow, and blue, in a graceful, open iris-like form.  The leaves are pure iris\u2013spear-like and plentiful (when happy).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><ul class=\"blocks-gallery-grid\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"474\" height=\"632\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gardenescapades.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DSC04673.jpg?resize=474%2C632\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"587\" data-full-url=\"http:\/\/gardenescapades.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DSC04673.jpg\" data-link=\"http:\/\/gardenescapades.com\/blog\/2015\/07\/26\/rain-at-last\/dsc04673\/\" class=\"wp-image-587\" loading=\"lazy\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gardenescapades.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DSC04673.jpg?resize=768%2C1024 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gardenescapades.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DSC04673.jpg?resize=225%2C300 225w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gardenescapades.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DSC04673.jpg?w=1944 1944w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gardenescapades.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DSC04673.jpg?w=948 948w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gardenescapades.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DSC04673.jpg?w=1422 1422w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My future plans for this plant are to plant it into the memory garden.  Seattle is considered a Zone 8 hardiness zone, and this plant is supposed to be hard to Zone 8, so I\u2019ll give it a chance to take up some room in that sunny bed.
