I bought this plant at least twenty years ago when we were still adding things to our woodland garden.  The name was irresistible to me.  Later, I found out the plant was introduced by my favority gardening writer, Christopher Lloyd.  It is a dark-leaved buttercup with attractive early spring flowers.  It could be a maleficent marauder in the right conditions.   For us, it spread a bit the first few years and then slowed down.  It is possible it has fully died out at this time.  For us, it was also a spring ephemeral\u2013coming up in late winter, blooming, and then disappearing by summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gardenescapades.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/brazen-hussy-e1425780097626.png\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"474\" height=\"632\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gardenescapades.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/brazen-hussy-e1425780097626-768x1024.png?resize=474%2C632\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-201\" loading=\"lazy\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gardenescapades.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/brazen-hussy-e1425780097626.png?resize=768%2C1024 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gardenescapades.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/brazen-hussy-e1425780097626.png?resize=225%2C300 225w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gardenescapades.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/brazen-hussy-e1425780097626.png?w=948 948w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gardenescapades.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/brazen-hussy-e1425780097626.png?w=1422 1422w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Future plans for this plant will be to carry out an \u201cExtinct or Alive\u201d search for it in the spring.
