For some more unusual plants, I turned to Annie’s Annuals:

Kniphofia thompsonii

Calceolaria “Kentish Hero”

Eriogonum “Red Buckwheat”

Euphorbia characias  “Dwarf”

With any luck, these will eat up a lot of space and add some texture and color interest.
